Five Major Precautions for Installing LED Displays Along Seacoasts and Riverbanks

When selecting high-quality LED displays, in addition to evaluating the inherent quality of the display itself and reliable after-sales service, matching the appropriate LED display product to the specific installation environment and application purpose provides another layer of guarantee. Below we briefly introduce the key points for choosing LED displays deployed along coasts and riverbanks. Such environments are marked by prominent features including high humidity, strong winds, intense ultraviolet radiation, and high risk of water seepage.

1. Humidity

High humidity in the long term will oxidize and corrode components such as the PCB boards, power supplies and power cables of LED displays, triggering equipment failures. Accordingly, during production, the PCB boards of LED displays must receive anti-corrosion treatment, such as coating with three-proof paint. Premium power supplies and power cables shall be adopted. Welding spots are the most susceptible to corrosion and require robust protective treatment. Special attention should be paid to the frame, which is prone to rust; thorough anti-rust treatment is strongly recommended.

2. Wind Load

Powerful winds impose direct impacts on the LED display installation structure. Therefore, wind force factors must be fully incorporated into mechanical stress analysis prior to installation.

3. Ultraviolet Radiation

Intense UV radiation accelerates surface aging of LED displays and shortens their service life. High-performance mask materials used in production can effectively mitigate damage caused by ultraviolet rays.

4. Water Infiltration

Conventional waterproof designs are mostly engineered only for rainfall, whereas waterproofing for special coastal and riverside environments requires more comprehensive solutions with all-round sealing protection from every direction.

5. Viewing Angle

This factor is often overlooked. Coastal and riverside locations usually feature unobstructed sightlines and large crowds of viewers. When selecting display products, the primary audience groups should be fully considered to define the required viewing angle specifications.
