Pixel pitch is a key parameter when selecting LED displays. This article elaborates on how to pick the appropriate LED display based on viewing distance, application scenarios and budget.
1. What is Pixel Pitch?
Pixel Pitch stands for the center-to-center distance between two adjacent pixels on an LED display, usually measured in millimeters (mm). The smaller the pixel pitch, the more pixels per unit area and the sharper the displayed image.
2. Relationship Between Viewing Distance and Pixel Pitch
Generally speaking, the optimal viewing distance is approximately 1000 times the pixel pitch value. For instance, the optimal viewing distance of P2.5 is 2.5 meters, and that of P3.91 is 3.91 meters.
3. Pixel Pitch Selection by Application Scenarios
Command centers and monitoring centers: P1.25–P1.56 is recommended
Meeting rooms and studios: P1.56–P2.5 is recommended
Shopping malls and exhibition halls: P2.5–P3.91 is recommended
Stage rental screens: P3.91–P6.67 is recommended
Outdoor advertising screens: P4–P10 is recommended
4. Budget Considerations
Displays with smaller pixel pitches come with higher prices. If the budget is limited, you may select a suitable pixel pitch matching your actual usage scenario instead of blindly pursuing ultra-fine pitches.
